Be safe and beware!

As we all know, the COVID-19 virus is still escalating even up to this day, and it is even discovered that a new variant of the virus have come. Our government is working hard to thwart the virus and to give us a safe life by securing different types and kinds of vaccines for citizens of the country. Though there are many vaccines for COVID-19, we still don’t know much about it, thus here are the information you need to be safe and beware of the dangers the vaccines could cause you. Here’s what you need to know!

First of all, vaccines work by mimicking infectious agent like viruses, bacteria etc. that can cause the diseases or illnesses. This teaches our body’s immune system to respond and fight against it. Vaccines usually introduce a weaker form of the virus, in this case COVID-19, that makes our immune system memorize it. This way, when we are infected with the virus, with the help of the vaccine, it can fight against it to prevent us to be ill.

Currently there are 7 COVID-19 vaccines, Pfizer-BioNtech, from the United States, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Sinovac, from China, Sputnik V, from Russia, Johnson’s and Johnson’s Janssen, Covaxin from India and Moderna, from the Unites States. As of May 10, 2021, about 2,408,781 total vaccine doses have been administered throughout the country. 1,957,511 individuals have been vaccinated across the country, with 451,270 receiving the second dose. The mass vaccination program would begin by May 2021.

Since Children immune systems are different from adults and it can vary depending on their age. WHO-approved vaccines are not recommended for anyone under the age of 16-18 years (depending on the individual vaccine), even if they belong to a high-risk group. It is also said that an individual is not recommended to get a COVID-19 vaccine if that person has history have allergic reactions to any ingredients that composed COVID-19 vaccine or if sick and is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, those it is ok if the doctor approves. Typical side effects of taking the vaccine include pain at the injection part, fever, fatigue, muscle pains, chills, and diarrhea. Less common side effects includes anaphylaxis, which is very rare.

So this is all information that I can offer to ensure your safety about COVID-19 vaccines and I hope we can all be safe and strong when the pandemic will finally end.
