To start the year right!

As of now, as our country and its cities are improving due to the events of last year, we must be thinking that we need a rest from the rest of the world right? Well, look no further for it’s that time of the year where every Ilocano and foreign tourists alike celebrate this festival: the Kannawidan Festval!

 

The Kannawidan Festival is a festival that lasts a week long between the last week of January until the first week of February. It also called the prime festival of the city.  A lot of entertaining events are also on show for example, like how a lot of shops where you can by a variety of souvenirs that are only available in the city and its performances. The festival is really important to people, especially this year ( because of the pandemic) and because of its special significance to the people that they can really feel and understand the true meaning of the festival. Its a place where different people come together and celebrate it as one, to take their mind of their problems for once and celebrate in the moment. Though a lot is really going on, with health protocols are strictly established and follow, I personally believe that we can still celebrate like any other year.

 

Therefore, I can truly say that the Kannawidan festival is a really fun and lively place for people to have fun and hopefully, to understand the meaning and the culture and its significance to the people.
